Therapeutic Approach

I See You | I Listen to You

I desire to know your personal story. I listen patiently and attentively to provide you with an experience that allows you to feel seen and heard.

Authenticity

We all crave authenticity, yet we often hide behind a mask of what we think society and others want us to be because we fear rejection. My authenticity creates a safe, non-judgmental, and warm environment, which allows you to BE YOU without a mask.

A Mirror of Truth

As a mirror of truth, I will lovingly point out difficult truths that resonate with you in a big way. Identifying the hard truths helps you become more honest with yourself and comfortable in your own skin.

 I like to ask questions

I ask questions that freely allow you to search yourself, gently let down your protective guard, and create a deeper level of self-awareness. Questions that often make people stop and say, “I never looked at it that way before.”

 Laughter

I welcome laughter in the therapy; it brings an element of genuineness because we all like to laugh. Laughter is an important part of life and very healing.

My Passion

I want to help people become all God has created them to be. I believe we all have a unique purpose that is sometimes buried under layers of shame, anger, anxiety, regret, fear, failure, inadequacy, discouragement, hurt, and resentment, amongst other things. My goal is to help you peel back the layers to discover the treasure within you, authentically be you, and live a purpose-driven life.

It’s a beautiful gift to see my clients choosing courageous steps to set themselves free by being vulnerable to share their stories of shame and express their personal truth. As a result, my clients begin to accept themselves right where they are, despite their imperfections.

Spirituality & therapy

You may have noticed references to God on this page. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)  who is Christian rather than a Christian Counselor. I will be respectful of your spiritual or non-spiritual life. I became a Christian in my late twenties, so I know it is uncomfortable and frustrating to have religion forced upon you. Therefore, I will not force my religion upon you. I will respect your belief or non-belief system and incorporate them how you desire

Christian Counseling

If you are Christian I have been trained to integrate Christianity into therapy. Upon your request, I am happy to integrate Christianity into your therapy sessions, to ensure you have faith based counseling that is adequate for your needs and desires.

Education

I completed a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling at Richmont Graduate University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and in Florida (telemental health only in Florida).
